Hong Kong retail sales rose more than 1 into the best-selling jewelry watches Qiao

Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department announced February 1, in December last year, total retail sales value of 29.4 billion (Hong Kong dollars, the same below), up 16%; discounting the effect of price changes, total retail sales volume rose 11.3%.

Month, jewelry, watches and clocks, and valuable gifts increased the most in volume, up 30.4%; followed by motor vehicles and parts (29.8%), electrical goods and photographic equipment (23%).

Other increases were recorded in categories, as well as wearing apparel (9.6%), commodities in department stores (9.3%), miscellaneous consumer goods (8.4%), miscellaneous consumer durable goods (4.7%), furniture and fixtures (4%), footwear, allied products and other clothing accessories (3.6%), food, alcoholic drinks and tobacco (2.1%) and fuels (1.1%). Sales volume of commodities in supermarkets fell 3.8%.

Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department said that retail sales in December increased significantly, indicating increased consumer spending during the festive season, especially on big-ticket item; inbound tourism growth has also brought the contribution. Because of the economic recovery is on track and the labor market continued to improve consumer confidence in the future should be able to remain firm.
